EU call for certification of products and services for SMEs (announcement, September 2024)
Note, 30 October 2026. The Ministry of Economy published the announced call on 23 December 2024 under the name Support to Enterprises for Product Certification and the Introduction of Management Systems (PK.1.3.04). Applications were accepted from 6 February 2025 at 11:00, with a temporary suspension from 18 April to 26 May 2025. Intake was suspended again on 3 September 2025 at 13:00, and the call was closed on 7 January 2026 at 13:00 because the allocation was used up. Current calls are tracked in our guides EU grants for businesses 2026 and Business incentives and upcoming calls 2026.
In September 2024 we expected the publication of a new EU call to support SMEs in increasing their international competitiveness through conformity assessment and certification of products, services or processes in line with the requirements of internationally recognised standards or certification schemes.
Eligible applicants (SMEs) are expected to be required to:
– have at least 1 employee based on working hours in the month preceding submission of the project proposal,
– be registered for economic activity for at least one year before submission of the project proposal,
– have operating revenue in the year before submission of the project proposal of more than 50% of the total project value,
– have a positive EBITDA in the year preceding the year of submission of the project proposal.
In addition to the costs of preparing the prescribed technical documentation; conformity assessment of products and issuing of conformity documents; and advisory services needed to introduce a management system that will enable certification, the costs of staff training and indirect costs will also be eligible, and the indirect costs can be used, among other things, to prepare the project proposal.
In addition, other EU grant calls for entrepreneurs are planned to be published by the end of the year, intended to co-finance participation in trade fairs, as well as calls to encourage innovative projects at different stages of development (technology readiness levels, TRLs).
The trade fair call announced here is described in our article Support for SME Internationalisation, technology readiness levels in TRL levels 1 to 9, and investments in equipment can also be financed with HBOR loans for entrepreneurs 2026.
